The phonemic chart contains all 44 sounds that make up words in spoken English. It's very useful for studying English pronunciation, but there's no easy way of writing in phonemic "font" in most software. You can use this chart to type in phonemic symbols for use in documents, teaching materials and websites.
Click on the symbols to insert them into the text field in your desired order, then copy and paste them into Microsoft Word or any other software that supports Unicode fonts. Be sure to select the right font in your software: usually Gentium, Arial Unicode MS or Lucida Sans Unicode.
You can also download copies of the phonemic chart in Adobe Acrobat pdf format for printing and photocopying.
